Good ol' rubber boots!

I guess Makeba figured that -30 Celsius whether means time for the rubber boots! Here she is practicing putting them on by herself! This video was taken during our first bout of cold weather in January (as you keen observers will notice, she hasn't yet received her haircut in this video!)

Makeba sings and dances!

We've been listening to "Raffi" a lot lately. It's Makeba's favourite type of music. For those of you who aren't familiar, Raffi is a children's entertainer. He sings songs and plays on his guitar. He was a favourite of both Annand's and mine when we were kids, and the magic of Raffi lives on through our child! This is one of her favourite songs on the album that we have. She also likes "kip, kip" which is her way of saying "Skip to my lou" and almost all of the other songs!

Chewin' on a wine cork

I suppose the child's toys are an indication of the parents' lifestyle. How could Annand's child not chew on a wine cork? They make them pretty sturdy these days, no real choking hazard with the plastic ones. Those teeth make her do what she needs to do, what can we say? The kid is resourceful!
