We spent three weeks in Ottawa visiting my parents as well as some family out east this May. It was amazing to see how much the kids grew and learned just from being in a new environment and around different people! Althea started to walk at my parent's neighbour's restaurant, she started using her teeth to chew her food, she learned a little sound rhyme that my dad taught her, and she started referring to Makeba as "Daaayy-daaa!"
She has grown so much and I've been so behind in documenting it! I sometimes feel like there's no way around it, the second child is always behind the first!
I'm so proud of my kids. They are developing a beautiful sibling relationship. I'm a bit jealous because I never had sisters growing up, and I can see that it is a very different sort of thing than having brothers! Brothers are good too, though!
I love to see how Althea takes care of her "baby" when she picks up a doll or stuffed animal and holds it to her shoulder and pats its back in a "there, there" kind of way. She has a unique sensitivity that differs from Makeba's. They are two very different kids, but so much fun to watch grow up!
